Jaded: made dull, apathetic, or cynical by experience or by surfeit
Thea: from the Greek, meaning Goddess
I’m Summer, a 33-year old water resources engineer from the lovely state of California. I blog about the ocean, the air, global climate change, endangered species, green living (eating local, reducing my carbon footprint, etc.), my little path through life and what I think along the way. Throw in there a good measure of poetry and haiku, ponderings about my place on this pretty planet of ours, and observations about daily life. Sometimes something so outrageous happens in the foreign policy arena that it too makes its way onto my pages.
I live in Redwood City, CA with the love of my life, Ken, and my three kitties. Here we have a garden, go fishing, camping, and hiking, cook, play music, and take lots of pictures and try to live simply.
I am unabashedly liberal, I am an idealist, I am lucky to have been born on this California soil.
My blog name, Jaded Thea, is pen name, based sort of on the author Dorothy Parker and sort of on my grandma’s name (Dorothea, and her aunt’s name was Thea (teh-yuh)). When I started this blog I didn’t feel the need for my real name to be floating out there in Google land any more than necessary, and jaded definitely described my world outlook…but I’ve come clean and now blog under my real name, but I decided to keep the blog URL and name the same.
My email is summer.sumz at gmail.
My myspace is here.
