this image is from Gregory Colbert’s work, Ashes and Snow,
which I stumbled upon while perusing the delightful blog persisting stars
which helped to instill in me a peace and serenity
    that I am lately seeking

Have you seen the video/documentary he did? I saw excerpts of it and it is beautiful. This whole idea that he has of documenting interactions between humans and animals as a bestiary is pretty cool. Plus, they are real images abd have not been “created” or “altered” in any way. He has this project going where he has branded the animal world and everytime a company uses an animal in their advertsing they should donate money to this brand and it will go to wildlife preservation. I wish I could remember the brand. have you heard of this?

I haven’t seen the video and hadn’t heard of the branding thing. I had actually posed a similar idea to one of my friends who works for a State Senator: if a company uses an endangered species in an ad, they should have to pay for habitat preservation. He jokingly passed the idea through the halls of Senate staffers and most thought it was a great idea - but none thought their Senator would sponsor it. I will look into Gregory Colbert’s work some more. Thanks so much for pointing out more of his work.
